Alien Swarm was released free on Steam yesterday. Plays decent and is free; so thought I would share the awesome-sauce that it is.

...and Renamon beat me to the punch already. I didn't look under a general board I guess; fail eh? Posted in the narrowed down board now i guess. Still a good game to check out for free. Awesome when I just got my computer back running...sucks being without it.

It is an awesome game with a few annoying things. Heard that it is quite short (I think there are like 4 campaigns), but it is free, you get a hat for TF2 (negligable but still fun) and most of all it is fun.

Edit: don't worry Aku, I failmerged the threads :3

Has it changed much from the original mod for UT2004?
Only got my laptop atm and I don't think it will run the Steam version.

I don't know since I didn't play the original UT2k4 mod. Right now there is only one campaign. I think it is a new one. You can check around youtube for vids.

First of all, how are you folks doing? It's been a while.:icon_wink:

Secondly, this game is awesome and I fully support everyone in OD at least trying it. It's free, it's on Steam, and it's being updated a lot. There's bound to be plenty of mods and user-created campaigns to come, and the current content's still keeping me busy. I'm going to be in Lithuania for a week soon, but afterwards I'd love to play with some of you.

It's fun for a couple of maps.
But it's a great game... However, mind the performance issues, my friends and I get slo-mo scenes randomly during gameplay o_O
