      New Mass Effect DLC Announced!

Hey all you PC and 360 Mass Effect players!

Since this is my all time favourite game series, it only seemed appropriate to post this information here.

Bioware just announced a new DLC for Mass Effect 2 is on the way. Titled 'Lair of the Shadow Broker', not much else has been released so far...except a quick line and three screenshots.

"Two years ago, Commander Shepard died and Liara T'Soni fought in a desperate struggle against the Shadow Broker to recover her former Commander. Now that Shepard is back, it's time to even the score."

For those who have played the first game, this is quite exciting. Based on the screenshots below, it appears Liara T'Soni, a main character from Mass Effect 1 who received a brief 10 minute cameo in the sequel, is on the books for more screentime. Maybe she'll be an NPC teammate once again (one can hope).

The story of Liara T'Soni's involvement in Commander Shepard's death and subsequent ressurection was told in the 4 part comic series called Mass Effect Redemption, and is available and all major comic vendors as well as for purchase for iPhone/iPad. The story tells of Liara's brush with the Shadow Broker, a shady information dealer who, for reasons told in the comic, earns a death wish from Liara. I assume this DLC is Liara asking for Shepard's help in taking down the Shadow Broker once and for all...and maybe one of the tie-ins for the third game.

Can't wait for this to come out!!!

Question is whether your character's romantic ties with Liara will have its effect on the conversation lines. I expect them to solve it like so. Hopefully it will be a free DLC this time.

Well your romance with Liara affected the first time you met her in ME2, it's either a hug or a kiss. So I would hope, and expect, that the romance would also have an impact somewhere in the DLC.

And I doubt it will be free, these types of DLC haven't been free yet, its mainly add-ons (weapons, armour, etc.) that they've given away. I'll pay for it though, it's a pretty big deal.

Liara didn't affect me enough in ME1 enough to go along and buy it right away. Personally, I think the reaction you got out of her when you did not romance her was more appealing than in ME2, but that is only me.

Wonder how long will it be.

Definitely getting this, despite any cost. Mass Effect 2 is a game of such superior quality, it should have a minute-fee! (not really of course )

Hmm, Mass Effect 2 is at the moment real cheap on Amazon.de, maybe I'll buy it. Is it better than the first part of Mass Effect? In Mass Effect 1 I hated the Sidequests, all time visit a planet, drive with that car which name I can't remember at the Moment, and search, kill or do something there, boring! Is that better in Mass Effect 2?

That is nonexistent in Mass Effect 2. While I loved driving the Mako, the side planet mini-quests were quite boring after the first playthrough. All of the issues people had with Mass Effect 1 have been rectified for Mass Effect 2. I STRONGLY suggest you buy it, this is my all time favourite video game series and the third one isn't even out yet.

I am on my fifth playthrough of ME2 and I am playing on Insanity. Love it!

      - Much more optimized engine
      - more "actiony" and less RPGish
      - No more planet exploration (instead you get planet scanning which is more boring imo)
      - Interruption system
      - ammo system

both are definately good, when I got it I felt that the game was the same but quite different at the same time in a good way. So I think you purchase was worth it.

On topic now: I am considering, Liara was an LI before on one of my characters (but I lost those saves due to a format) and I was quite surprised with her obsession with the Shadow broker, but to admit I am much more interested about -who- the shadow broker is in this DLC then Liara (if you actualy find the Shadow Broker that is).
